Make Plans now to attend the German Bierfest on August 23
History Woodruff Park is designed to accommodate large crowds on their lunch hour and for special events. Recent Improvements include increasing electrical power in the park, repairing drainage systems and removing overgrown shrubbery.
"Woodruff Park is THE Heart and Soul of Downtown Atlanta. The revitalization is absolutely critical to Mayor Franklin's priorities. Mr Woodruff envisioned an oasis in the very middle of the most urban part of the city. That has never been truer. Downtown Atlanta is alive with new businesses and new residents arriving every day. Tourism flourishes because of Downtown Atlanta. A greenspace that is attractive, well maintained, well lit and programmed with activities that draw people to it is critical to our success."
***The Environmental Protection Division has declared a level three drought management response. The The City of Atlanta endorses the EPD’s policy and adheres to it. The level three response prohibits using water for ornamental purposes, such as fountains, reflecting pools and waterfalls except when necessary to support aquatic life. The fountains in Woodruff Park and in Margaret Mitchell Park will be closed until the EPD lifts the ban or at least raises the drought response to level two.
